COINS Framing is an advanced application which complements Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2007, 2006, and 2005, to produce sophisticated timber and lightweight steel framing models. The 2008 version will be released soon. COINS Framing provides stock optimization to produce detailed material take-offs, and full production of manufacturing drawings with the ability to link to cutting saws.

Architectural Desktop - the COINS Framing module has deep integration with ADT, allowing for seamless maneuver between the Autodesk and COINS applications and dramatically reduced the learning curve.

Styles - the design defaults for the frames are held in pre-defined (and customizable) styles, allowing for quick and easy use while still giving the power and flexibility of this fully-featured framing application.

Converting Existing Walls - allowing existing solid walls to be converted in one operation into frames including multiple component walls - for example, allowing for cavity walls with a brick external skin and an internal frame skin with drywall.
Converting Existing Line-work - allowing existing 2D drawings to be converted in one operation into frames.

Intelligent Junctions - many options are included for stud positioning in junction cleanups.
Structural Member Catalogue – the framing module takes full advantage of the new structural member catalog for selecting timber and lightweight steel allowing for 'real-world' items & I-beams. Different timber and lightweight steel types are also allowed within the same frame.

Gable Panels - using existing ADT interface to produce spandrel panels.

Blocking and Loose Timbers - straight, staggered, single, and doubled blocking can be added as part of the frame, while individual timbers can be added, moved, or erased to allow for non-centered optimizations within the frame.

Windows, Doors, and other Openings - add/move/erase just like with standard ADT walls, while intelligently changing the stud configurations to suit the new frame while including many options for lintel details, and opening/cripple studs.

Floors and Roofs - create detailed floor and roof plans/models, either loose or as cassettes or trussed, complete with sheeting. Punch holes through your floor or roof with just a couple of mouse clicks.

Manufacturing Drawings - produces fully dimensioned manufacturing drawings complete with schedules, which can then be exported to cutting saws. These drawings are also 'live' - as the model is altered, the manufacturing drawing will instantly update itself.

Virtually every aspect of this process is customizable through styles and display properties.

Sheeting Layouts - allowing for different sheet sizes, joint gaps, sheets cut around openings or square cut to openings.
